Invitation to contribute

Dear Authors,

We warmly invite you to contribute to the upcoming issues of Forests Monitor (FM), which will focus on the sustainable use of forest resources. In 2025, FM plans to publish two issues, with submission deadlines set for 1 March and 1 September. The corresponding issues will be released at the end of June and December. To ensure timely dissemination of your research, all accepted papers will be published online continuously as they are finalized.

Examples of subjects that are within the scope of the FM include but are not limited to:

  1. Forest ecology and conservation
  • application of ecological knowledge for improved forest management and conservation
  • streamlining biodiversity benefits and/or multiple ecosystem services from forests
  • alternative forestry models and systems, e.g. continuous cover forestry and coppice
  • forest conservation on different scales, integrative versus segregative approaches
  • management across different land uses, e.g. agroforestry and silvopasture
  • climate change and other meta challenges for forest ecology and conservation
  1. Forest management and planning
  • silviculture and forest modelling
  • decision support systems and forest management plans
  • forest measurements, GIS and remote sensing in forestry
  • artificial intelligence and other forestry innovations
  1. Forest policy and economics
  • policy instruments and their mixes
  • international forest policy regimes
  • actors, structures and institutions
  • forest economics and marketing
  • policy and economics of climate change in forestry
  • participatory forest governance

Please feel free to disseminate this announcement to any colleagues who might be interested. All submissions will undergo an anonymous peer review process to guarantee high scientific quality and relevance to the subject. 

All accepted papers will be instantly published on Journal’s website. All articles and contact details of corresponding authors will be included in our press release service, which means that your work draws the attention of all the main media organizations in the world, who may choose to feature the work in newspaper and other media reports.
